Each class at Lakshimi Yoga combines movement, breath work and meditation following a vinyasa style of yoga. Vinyasa means to flow from one pose into the next using the breath as a guide to a smooth transition.
All ability levels are welcome! Beginners will be taught to move safely in and out of a range of introductory standing, seated and floor poses. More experienced practitioners will be offered variations on standard poses.
Classes generally follow the school term timetable.

Vinyasa Class Format
Sixty minute vinyasa session combining unhurried movement with mindful breathing. Options and modifications offered throughout the practice. Classes include guided meditation, purposeful stretching, sequenced movement and moments of rest.
Tuesday - straight forward vinyasa flow practice.
Thursday - incorporation of props such as blocks and belts to better enable the body to go deeper into different poses.
Yin Yoga Class Format
Yin classes are quite different to a vinyasa class. Whilst completed in a sequence, each pose is completed independently of a previous pose - the poses don’t flow from one to the next.
Practitioners are taught to move into a pose, hold it for a certain number of minutes (approximately 3-5) and then slowly come out of the pose and reset the body through gentle movements.
Yin Yoga is designed to mobilise the ligaments and to regain space in the joints. Yin targets the deep connective tissue like fascia, ligaments, joints and bones. It is a slower meditative practice with the aim of going inward to focus on body sensations and mind control.
Yoga Classes for kids
Kids classes are a fun way for children to develop new skills, gain self-confidence and build social skills. Children coming to yoga sessions will learn breath awareness techniques, meditation, and movement sequences in a non-competitive and supported environment.
Children will be encouraged to breathe deeply, move differently, and relax mindfully. All age groups are specifically catered for ensuring children leave feeling accomplished and happy!
